About

Debt And Money

“88% of single parents are worried the can’t pay for household essentials”
Gingerbread UK

“14 million people in the UK are living in poverty. Poverty is so much more than going without. Poverty destroys lives. It robs people of joy, hope and opportunities. It tears families apart, isolates those most in need of support, and leads many to believe there is no way out.”
Christians Against Poverty.

Making ends meet is a challenge for all families and the current ‘credit crisis’ has meant an even higher level of pressure on families. But advice and support is available!

Citizens Advice

If you are finding things tough then the Citizens Advice is a great source of information and support. Their website provides you with free information enabling you to be informed, suggesting positive and practical ways to deal with any debt problems including how to avoid losing your home and how to get your finances back into shape.

Turn2Us

Is another great organisation for support with all things money related! Turn2Us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially.

It may be possible to apply for grants to help you with everyday costs or one-off purchases, such as buying a school uniform for your child. Trusts give money out to those in need, usually depending on certain criteria such as age or location.

Turn2Us also helps people to gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and other financial help. Why not put your details into their Grants Finder below, and see which grants you might be eligible to apply for.
